Again, thank you all SO much for your support and kind words.
It's been such a source of encouragement and motivation.
And believe me when I say this clothing line will be developing even more in the coming months!

Safe & Sound

Geez louise, I haven't posted in 4 days! What the heck?!
I know you all must have been missing me ;) Just kidding, of course!
But I do really miss it when I don't put time into posting...
It's just nice to feel productive when it comes to blogging. You know what I mean?

Well anyway, it's been a bit of a crazy few days.
I won't go into detail, but let's just say sometimes things happen that are out of your control.
And all you can really do is go along and be positive and try to stay true to what your heart tells you to do.
It also helps to take your mind off things when you're completely enthralled in a good ol' book series called The Hunger Games.
And you can't go to sleep without reading as much as possible before your eyes grow too weary.
It's a bit funny that I'm getting into it.
I feel like I usually don't like most "popular" books/movies.
But I'm really enjoying this series.
Anybody else feel the same....anybody?

Haha...that's way too many words for now!
On to the more magical, fun, girly things that you're all here for ;)

I adore this outfit.
It feels so feminine and pretty and effortless.
Although, I DID put some effort into my hair. Tim actually helped a lot.
I used a tutorial my friend Katie sent my way. It's from Ruche. It's the Audrey Hepburn Bun!
I definitely haven't mastered it, but I was pretty pleased with the results.

Oh, and did you notice I'm not wearing a cardi?!
Well not to brag...but it's pretty dang gorgeous here in Indiana.
It's so perfect!

Have a lovely, warm, cozy evening.

Sneak Peak : The June Dress!

Here is a sneak peak of one of the dresses from my collection!!
This dress is one of my favorites.
I used a pattern from 1977, altered it a bit, and came out with this gem!
I galavanted around the neighborhood in it yesterday,
and I thought I'd snap some photos to give you all a sneak peak!

It's honestly a dream come true to wear clothes that I've made myself.
My Mom has been showing me tips & tricks on how to sew since I was a little girl.
It is a knowledge that I hold dear to my heart, since she means so much to me!

I'll have the website up SOON, and this gem will be for sale!
So...let's have it...what do you think of this first design?!

Breakfast Date : Silver Spoon in Valparaiso!

Tim & I went on a breakfast date this morning!
We both had the day off, so we were able to sleep in and have a lazy morning.
We decided to go out for a nice breakfast date because, well....we.love.breakfast.
It's our favorite meal of the day.

So we settled into a cozy table at a lovely restaurant called Silver Spoon.
It's such an amazing place with a brick wall, pastel blue paint, wood tables, amazing food, and my favorite coffee.
It's called Julius Mienl. Apparently it's a company based in Vienna. Pretty delicious, smooth stuff!
So we ate our yummy food, drank our delicious coffee, and chatted & laughed the morning away ;)

Such a great way to start our Thursday!
Do any of you have a favorite breakfast spot? Or are we the only ones who are wayyyy too into breakfast?!

Nothin' But Blue Skies

I bought this dress on our honeymoon nearly two years ago.
It has been one of my favorites ever since.
It's comfortable and colorful and it reminds me of our sunny days in California,
riding bikes along the beachfront and finding adventure in everything.
And Tim picked it out for me, which I think is so sweet because I'm a sap like that ;)

I think I'll probably have this dress and this hat forever.
Maybe my kids will think they're great and want to wear them someday!

Anyway...on to the photos!
We found this adorable tree while we walked around our neighborhood.

Life has been grand lately!
I hope you all can say the same.

A pretty song for you to listen to: Jaymay "Blue Skies"
I used to listen to her a lot a few years ago.
Nothing like nostalgia in a song ;)

Love you(s),

Life In Film

A few days ago, Kylie and I took some of our favorite film cameras around town.
It had been a while since we'd done a photo adventure.
It's something we used to do all the time.
But, as it goes, life gets busy and we haven't found much time to do it lately.
We spent an afternoon together, shooting around, laughing, being silly as sisters do ;)
And it just so happens that I snapped a few photos on the LAST day that Ky was pregnant!
Pretty sweet!

(the last day Ky was pregnant!)

Well, I thought I'd share a few faves from the day.
I'm trying to share more film photos on here since I love them oh so much!

I hope you're all having a lovely evening.
Tim and I just took a magical evening bike ride.
Now we're cookin' up some BBQ for dinner! Delicious.

Feels Like Summer.

Hello, friends!
I've had such a grand weekend.
Between cuddle sessions with my new nephew Seth, I've been riding bikes and enjoying the fresh breeze of an early summer.
Can a girl ask for much more? I don't think so!

I've also been working on our website for our clothing line, Midnight and Dawn.
Kylie & I decided to name it Midnight & Dawn after a quote from a Francesca Lia Block book.
It has always reminded us of our relationship..
"We were two wild ponies, Dawn and Midnight, the wind electrifying our manes and our hooves quaking the city; we were photo negatives of each other, together making the perfect image of a girl.”

I can't wait to show you everything we've been working on!

Hello, My Handsome Nephew!

Meet my darling new (first) nephew!
Seth James was born yesterday at about 12:30AM! He is 7lbs 2oz of pure cuteness!
I am SO proud of my twin sister Kylie, who was SUCH a strong gal throughout the whole labor.
Tim, my Mom and I were anxiously awaiting in the waiting room all night...
and when we finally got to meet the newest member of our family, we were thrilled more than words can describe!
When I first saw my sister holding him right after he was born, it was honestly one of the most joyful moments of my whole life.
She looked so beautiful holding her very first child.
We spent all day yesterday passing him around, cuddling him & giving him tons of kisses.
He is such a handsome boy & he has stolen our hearts already.

More Adventurous.

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a walk in the park.
Tim and I drove to a beautiful lake surrounded by paths and trees.
We took along Casey, of course ;)
That little pup of ours is always up for a good adventure.

My favorite part of the park was this lovely pier on the lake.
It was so peaceful & quiet. Well, except for the lone fisherman watching me and Tim take photos.
Always a bit awkward....haha!
Anyway, here are some photos!

Oh, and Casey decided it would be fun to jump in the lake and shake his wet fur all over me!
Sheesh....boy dogs. Always full of mischief ;)

Well, I have a feeling today is going to be quite an amazing day ;)
Love you(s). Have a beautiful Wednesday. Live it up!

Make It Yourself Monday : Stenciled Umbrella

Today's Make-It-Yourself-Monday is the perfect accessory for spring!
I figured out how to spruce up a boring old black umbrella,
and I thought I'd share with you all!

Soon enough, you'll have your very own custom umbrella!
And just FYI, I used a flower stencil from Michael's.
Also, make sure you don't use too much ink when you're printing.
If there's too much ink, it will start to crack when it dries.

Also, I suggest spraying your lovely creation with Scotchguard when you're done.
It'll seal it up all nice & pretty. You can get it from Menards, Lowe's, etc.

Happy printing!
Hurry up and get your umbrellas done before spring showers hit ;)
